Children Film Festival 2017 starts from tomorrow

Kolkata, Feb 28 (UNI) Children Film Festival 2017 organised by Children Film Society of
India (CFSI) will kick off from tomorrow here.
The Mega Event will be held on March 9 at Kala Mandir in the city.
The Movies will be screened at some reputed Govt. schools of Kolkata like Hindu School,
Sanskrit School, Jadavpur Vidyapith, Tollygunge Adarsha Hindi School and Sailendra Sarkar
School.
The objective of the festival is to encourage and develop the creative thinking of the Children
and make them more communicative.
The purpose is to give children the exposure to good films to raise their film consciousness.
But there are many children particularly the underprivileged ones who don’t get the opportunity
to see such good films.
“So this time we introduce our children to good films & they can rejoice the magic of silver
screen so that they also develop a sense of film appreciations as well as develop a critical eye
towards the art of cinema,” a CFSI official today said,
'' Cinema is a powerful medium to reach the minds and hearts of children, '' he said.
'' Cinema can inspire and motivate Children to bring about behavioural and value changes in
them. By narrating an audio-visual experience, Films become effective to elicit powerful
emotions and a great way to capture a child’s imagination by virtue of stories, '' the official said.
'' Cinema is a visual comic that children can relate to. The impact it has on the young minds is tremendous and that's why it becomes important for kids to see good films,'' he added.
