Chief Minister unveils Swami Ramanand Tirth statue , pays tribute to Marathwada freedom fighter

Ch. Sambhajinagar, Nov 16 (UNI) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that Swami Ramanand Tirth’s role in the Marathwada freedom movement remains invaluable and unforgettable, emphasising that the spiritual leader inspired patriotic consciousness among the youth and mobilised women along with fellow freedom fighters.
Fadnavis made these remarks while unveiling Swami Ramanand Tirth’s statue at Kranti Chowk and dedicating the renovated historic lotus pond to citizens.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister for Backward Classes, Dairy Development and Non-Conventional Energy Atul Siva, MP Sandipan Bhumre, Rajya Sabha MP Dr Bhagwat Karad, MLA Sanjay Kanekar, MLA Anuradha Chavan, Municipal Commissioner G. Srikanth and relatives of freedom fighters associated with the Marathwada liberation struggle. The Chief Minister noted that Swami Ramanand Tirth, belonging to the Khedgekar family, served as both a teacher and a social leader, nurturing national consciousness and guiding young people during a critical phase in the region’s history.
