Chief Minister’s Cup 2025 sparks Telangana’s largest-ever grassroots sports movement

Hyderabad, Feb 18 (UNI) The Chief Minister’s Cup 2025 has emerged as Telangana’s biggest-ever grassroots sporting initiative, drawing a record 5,00,276 athlete registrations and propelling 21,500 sportspersons into state-level competitions across 44 disciplines.
Organised by the Sports Authority of Telangana, the tournament was conceived to promote rural and grassroots sports, with competitions conducted at village, mandal, Assembly constituency and district levels before advancing to the state stage. The event has transformed the State into a hub of sporting activity, reflecting strong youth participation and competitive spirit.
State-level competitions are being held at major venues in Hyderabad, including Gachibowli Stadium, L.B. Stadium, Saroornagar Stadium and water sports facilities at Hussain Sagar, along with events across 10 districts.
