Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visits Muzaffarpur in view of outbreak of AES

Muzaffarpur, Jun 18 (UNI) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today visited Sri Krishna Medical
College and Hospital, here and inquired condition of children suffering from Acute
Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) even as at least 106 children died due to AES in
Muzaffarpur and adjoining districts so far.
Chief Minister Mr Kumar during his visit to SKMCH took details of children afflicted
with AES from SKMCH superintendent and doctors. He talked with guardians of the
children and assured them of treatment of AES patients with full dedication.
After his visit to SKMCH, Mr Kumar held a meeting with senior officers of health
department, superintendent, principal and doctors of SKMCH and gave them
directions for ensuring better treatment of AES patients.
Mr Kumar directed authorities concerned to ensure round the clock availability of
doctors at the hospital by deputing additional doctors.
He also directed the hospital superintendent to brief mediapersons every day
providing details of activities related to AES treatment at the hospital and the
existing situation.
