Chhattisgarh High Court sets up fast track courts in 9 districts

Bilaspur, Dec 6 (UNI) Amid rise in incidents of crime against women across the country the Chhattisgarh High Court on Friday appointed judges by setting up fast track courts for quick hearing of the cases registered particularly under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in nine districts of the state.
Quoting Nov 5 notification of the state government, High Court Registrar issued an order for setting up fast track courts in Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Bilaspur, Durg, Janjgir-Champa, Koriya, Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Surajpur and Ambikapur. Three fast track courts have been set up in Raipur while two fast track courts have been set up in Bilaspur and four have been set up in Durg. All these special courts will exclusively hear the cases of rape and cases registered under POCSO Act.
According to the order Mrs Vandana Deepak Dewangan has been posted as Additional District and Sessions Judge in Balrampur-Ramanujganj fast track special court whereas Vivek Kumar Tiwari has been posted as Additional District and Sessions Judge in I Fast Track Special Court Bilaspur. The Additional District and Sessions Judge Ms Sanghratna Bhatpahri has been posted in II Fast Track Court Bilaspur.
