Visakhapatnam, May 10 (UNI) Riding on Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson half centuries, Chennai Super Kings defeated Delhi Capitals by six wickets in Qualifier 2 to enter final of the 12th edition of IPL tournament at Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium here on Friday.
After put into bat, Delhi could only managed to post a total of 147 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, while chasing a target, Chennai got off to a tremendous start as the opening pair added 81 runs for the first wicket and made the way easy for their team to clinch victory.
Both batsmen played handsomely and struck half centuries each. However, in 10th over, Plessis walked to pavilion as he was caught by Keemo Paul on Trent Boult's ball. He scored 50 runs off 39 balls with the help of 7 fours and 1 six.
However, Plessis departure couldn't stop Chennai from scoring runs as on the other end. Watson kept the score board running before falling to Amit Mishra in the 12th over. Watson too scored 50 runs in 32 balls. His inning included 3 fours and 4 sixes.
