Charanjit Channi to take oath as Punjab CM tomorrow

Chandigarh, Sep 19 (UNI) Punjab chief minister-designate Charanjit Singh Channi said his oath taking ceremony would take place on Monday morning, after he met Governor Banwarilal Purohit and submitted the letter of support.
Mr Channi through his letter to Punjab Governor informed that in a meeting of the Congress Legislative Party held on September 19, 2021, he was elected as the leader of the Congress Legislative Party in the Punjab Legislative Assembly.
The Governor congratulated him and invited him to take oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab at Raj Bhawan on September 20, 2021 at 1100 hrs.
Mr Channi was accompanied by senior Congress leader Harish Rawat, PPCC President Navjot Singh Sidhu, Cabinet Ministers Brahm Mohindra, Sukhjinder Randhawa, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukh Sarkaria and Ms Aruna Chaudhary.
Channi was announced as the successor to Captain Amarinder Singh, who resigned on Saturday.
