Chandrashekhar Bawankule appointed as new Maha BJP chief

Mumbai/Nagpur, Aug 12 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Friday was appointed as the Maharashtra BJP unit chief while Ashish Shelar is set to head the Mumbai unit of BJP.
Bawankule, who hails from Nagpur, was denied a ticket in the 2019 assembly elections but he was elected to the state council on June 20 this year.
The announcement of appointments of Bawankule and Shelar were made by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh.
