Chandigarh XI & PNB score facile wins in their openers

Chandigarh, Dec 17 (UNI) Chandigarh XI and Punjab National Bank started their campaign with facile wins in the 29th Lal Bahadur Shastri Hockey Tournament at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium here today.
In the opening matches Chandigarh XI rallied to outplay Central Industrial Security Force by 6-3 while Punjab and National Bank beat Central Reserve Protection Force by 4-1.
In the first match, it was CISF who drew the first blood against Chandigarh XI in the fourth minute by scoring a field goal through Neeraj. Chandigarh XI mounted relentless pressure and earned three penalty corners which they converted through Hashim (9th minute), Yograj (21st) and Arshdeep (30th) to take a 3-1 lead which was further increased by Maninder who scored a field goal in the 38th minute.
