Chandigarh, Oct 30 (UNI) Chandigarh XI, Hockey Patiala and Central Reserve Police Force recorded victories in the 48th S N Vohra’s All India Gurmit Memorial Hockey Tournament at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium here on Wednesday.
In a high scoring match Chandigarh XI derailed Northern Railway, New Delhi by 6-5; while Patiala Hockey got the better of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Jalandahr by 3-1 and CRPF just managed to pip SGGS Club Chandigarh by 3-2 via penalty shootout.
Hockey Patiala scored through Harshpreet (12th, pc), Gurshahzad (36th) and Pradteek (52nd). Amit Kumar got the solitary goal for EME by scoring a field goal in the 43rd minute.
CRPF and SGGSC played a 2-2 draw in the regulation period. Rabindra (15th) and Balram (57th) scored for CRPF. Sanjay (46th) and Maninder (60) were SGGSC's goal-getters. The match was decided via penalty shootout and CRPF won by 3-2.
In the third match, Chandigarh XI scored through Sandeep (3rd), Taranpreet (14th), Raman (29th), Harpanth (41st) and Gurjinder (35th, 47th). Northern Railway's scorers were Om Prakash (2nd, 18th), Dharminder (4th), Sukhmanjit (55th) and Mohit (59th).
