Chandigarh MCC to welcome 'Sikh Jatha' coming from Nankana Sahib on Aug 9

Chandigarh, Aug 5 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation is going to welcome the 'Sikh Jatha,' coming from Nankana Sahib, outside Parade Ground in Sector 17, here on August 9.
This was decided in a meeting of the implementation committee, constituted for planning the activities of the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, held here on Monday, under the chairmanship of Hardeep Singh.
The committee discussed and decided that as part of celebration of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a welcome programme would be organised by the MCC, near Parade Ground in Sector 17 at 1700 hrs on August 9.
It was decided that a welcome gate would be provided and a stall for distribution of refreshment would be placed near the welcome gate. The meeting further decided to deploy sanitation staff to clean the route in the city before the 'Jatha' passes and post procession, so that proper cleanliness be maintained.
The committee decided that flags and welcome banners will be displayed throughout the route, from entry into the city.
It also decided to clean the route through water sprinklers and with road sweeping machines. The committee asked the engineers of horticulture division to prune the tree branches, wherever required, in the route.

HP to use SDRF to feed people during lockdown : CM
