Chandigarh mayor polls: AAP rules out alliance with Congress

Chandigarh, Jan 22 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party will contest the upcoming Chandigarh mayoral election independently and will not enter into any alliance with the Congress, party’s Punjab in-charge Jarnail Singh said on Tuesday.
The announcement puts an end to speculation about a possible opposition tie-up ahead of the closely watched civic contest.
AAP has formally announced its candidates for all three posts. Yogesh Dhingra has been nominated for the mayor’s post, Munawar Khan for senior deputy mayor, and Jaswinder Kaur for deputy mayor.
