Chandigarh FA and Chennai FC win in contrasting styles

Chandigarh, Sep 24 (UNI) Chandigarh Football Academy and Chennai Football Club recorded victories in contrasting styles in the 17th edition of the annual Administrator’s Challenge Cup All India Football Tournament U-14 (Boys) at Sports Complex, Sector-42 here on Tuesday.
In the league match of Group B, Chandigarh Football Academy thrashed Delhi Soccer Association by 8-0 while in Group C pool fixture, Chennai Football Club eked out a narrow 1-0 verdict against Kuljeet Football Academy of Amritsar.
Chandigarh Football Academy and Delhi Soccer Association teams locked horns and played skillful game in the first half without any score. After breather, the CFA coach briefed fresh strategy and infused the motivation among the players.
Chandigarh Football Academy played an inspiring game before the home crowd in the 2nd half. CFA capitalized most of the chances, which came their way to record a well-deserved 8-0 verdict The CFA player Arbeed scored two well deserved field goals in 46th and 60th minutes. Lemeet contributed a brace by scoring in the 48th and 68th minutes. Mukal scored one goal in 55th minute and Lenchenba struck three goals in 42nd, 59th and 70th minutes of the game.
KARKAR NETS WINNER FOR CFC: In league match of group (C), the speedy Chennai Football CLub defeated Kuljeet Football Academy, Amritsar with solitary penalty kick of the match in 59th minutes of the game. Both the teams started with brilliant note and long pass dominated during the first 40 minutes of the game.
Teams shared equal percentage of ball possession in the first 40 minutes of game and kept on playing in the mid field area, resulting no score either side in the first half.
However, both the teams came up with couple of good moves in between after breather. Chennai team which appeared to be bit technically sound, geared up in the 59th minute of the play and motivated lads of Chennai team came up with two long passes inside the 25 yards box area of opponent, where sensing the threat, Kuljeet academy player tried to clear the ball with illegal tackle costing them dear by a penalty kick and M.Karkar of Chennai team converted it in a goal with ease.
