Chandigarh Chemist Association to participate in all India strike

Chandigarh, Sep 25 (UNI) Tricity Chemists Associations (CCA), a body of Chemists of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula region, on Tuesday announced that it will participate in the strike called by All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) on September 28 against online sale of medicines and pharmacies.
The CCA President Vijay Anand and General Secretary Vinay Jain, in a joint statement, claimed that the online pharmacies were a threat to the public health and the business of regular pharmacists in the country. Over 8.5 lac members of AIOCD will remain on 24 hours strike starting from September, 2018.
They expressed concern that the tech-savvy youth in the country can misuse the online pharmacies for purchasing the drugs that were banned in the country or buy medicines that require prescription.
