Chanaka-Korata barrage to be completed by Khariff 2018: Minister

Hyderabad, Nov 10 (UNI) The Telangana Government will complete Chanaka-Korata barrage across Penganga River by Khariff 2018, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao said on Friday.
Replying to questions in the house, Mr Rao said an extent of 13,500 acres is proposed to be irrigated under Chanaka-Korata barrage and 37,500 acres under Lower Penganga Project.
The Minister said that the projects was a 40 years dream of Boath and Adilabad Assembly Constituencies.
The then Chief Minister Jalagam Vengal Rao had laid foundation stone for the projects in 1975.
The TRS government inked an agreement with Maharashtra and launched the projects within three-and-half years after assuming the power in the state. All the clearances including environmental received for the projects, the Minister added.

Raipur, Nov 20 (UNI) About 50 per cent voting has been recorded till 1500 hrs in afternoon on 72 assembly seats under 2nd phase of elections in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, amid heavy security arrangements in all polling centres.
