Chain snatching case resolved

Puducherry, Aug 22(UNI) Police on Thursday claimed to have resolved a stabbing and chain snatching case here with the arrest of a 60-year-old woman of Govinda Saalai here.
According to a police release here, an unidentified woman, with her face covered veil on her head, barged into the house of one Clara(70) and Devi(65) in the same area and snatched a three sovereign gold chain worth Rs one lakh after stabbing the two. The two victims are undergoing treatment at a government hospital.
Grand Bazaar police obtained a complaint from the two and formed a special team to nab the culprit.Police traced the woman identified as Mangeswari and arrested her within hours of the crime. Police also seized the chain and the knife she used to attack the women.
