CFLD proposes for joint development of IMT Sohna

Chandigarh, Nov 17 (UNI) The China Fortune Land Development Private Limited (CFLD) has submitted a proposal to the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) for joint development of an Integrated Industrial Model Township (IMT) Sohna with a vision to make it north India’s prime destination for industrial development and bring investment to the tune of Rs 17,000 crore and generate more than one lakh job opportunities.
HSIIDC Managing Director Sudhir Rajpal here today said the proposal has been submitted under the Swiss Challenge Method. He said the CFLD, through the CFLD India, intends to invest and serve as a 'total solution' partner to the Haryana Government for the development of the project as a modern, ecological, high-value and integrated IMT with sound urban functions, focusing on building the ecosystem for and attract high-value industries.
He said the CFLD had initially expressed its interest to participate in the development and upgradation of the state of Haryana during the visit of a delegation led by the Chief Minister to China in January 2016. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed amongst Government of Haryana, HSIIDC and CFLD on July 2, 2016, in the presence of the Chief Minister.
Mr Rajpal reminded that the Haryana Cabinet had approved the proposal of Industries and Commerce Department to adopt the guidelines for project execution and public procurement of development works under Swiss Challenge Method.
The Swiss Challenge Method is a bidding process to help private sector initiative in spotting public need projects. It is also in consonance with the Maha Nivesh Yojana of the state government wherein the government would support development of iconic projects in manufacturing enterprises, tourism, logistics and wholesale markets, which would bring mega investment to the state.
