Centre working for welfare of farmers: BJP Kisan Morcha

Indore, MP, Jul 3 (UNI) Mentioning that the Centre has launched various schemes for welfare of farmers, Bharatiya Janata Party Kisan Morcha President Vijaypal Singh Tomar today asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target to double the income of farmers by 2022.
“For the first time after independence, the Prime Minister has buckled down for development of agriculture and peasants. The Centre has set a target to take electricity to every village by 2022. Soil health cards would be made available to 14 crore peasant families by May 31 next year,” Mr Tomar told a media conference here.
On the occasion, he elaborated on the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna, the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojna, making a provision of Rs 38,500 crore under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme for digging five lakh ponds and wells and 10 lakh compost pits and connecting 550 agricultural markets in the country on online platform.
