Centre signs agreement with World Bank for higher education in agriculture: Radha Mohan

Samastipur, Dec 3 (UNI) Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh today said that the Centre had signed an agreement with World Bank paving way for investment of nearly Rs 1100 crore for promoting higher studies in agriculture.
After inaugurating three day ‘Kisan Mela’ inside Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agriculture University at Pusa in the district, Mr Singh said that a new dimension would be added to higher education in agriculture after the launch of National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP). He said that the Centre was committed to speedy growth of farm sector and would not leave any stone unturned for achieving the goal.
Mr Singh said that the Centre had launched a number of projects for the agriculture development in eastern region of the country including Bihar. He said that a centre of Coconut Development Board would be opened in the state capital and also Banana Research Centre would be opened at Goraul in Vaishali district.
