Centre released Rs 3,60,000 cr for drinking water: Joshi

Hubballi, 16 Jan (UNI) Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Coal, Prahlad Joshi has said that the Centre has allocated a total amount of Rs 3,60,000 (Three Lakhs and Sixty Thousand) Crores to be spent on providing pure Piped Drinking water to each and every households in Rural India this year under the Jan Jeevan mission.
Inagurating a Rs 50 (Fifty Lakhs) Bus Station at Garag Village, near here on Friday, Mr. Joshi said that in Karnataka the Jan Jeevan Mission will be implemented combining with Karnataka State’s Jala Dhara scheme to provide the pure piped drinking water to every households in Dharwad District. For this purpose, a Rupees 1400 (One four zero zero) Crores project has been Prepared to bring water from the Malaprabha Dam in Savadatti Taluk via Amminabhavi distribution Center. The Project will take three to four years to Complete. he said that Several projects have been taken up in Dharwad district under Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana. More than 24000 Toilets have been built in Dharwad District alone, he added.
He said the Center has taken up several schemes for the benefit of Farmers in the Rural areas to increase the support price for their Agricultural products and also to ensure their annual income is doubled by the year 2022.
