New Delhi, June 20 (UNI) There is an air of anticipation around with film buffs awaiting the release of the talk of the town, 'Ocean's 8'.
With a cast featuring top female stars, the film, according to critics is just what Hollywood has been waiting for.
But as much scoop as there has been around the re-imagined all-female plot, the centre piece that shares the limelight is the ‘The Jeanne Toussaint’ necklace recreated by Cartier especially for the film.
The spectacular historic piece celebrates the sparkling strength of bold and fearless women of today.
Designed by Jacques Cartier in 1931 for the Maharaja of Nawanagar, the neckpiece had to be recreated using sketches and old photographs to fit the neck of a woman.
The original necklace featured 136.25 carat 'Queen of Holland' Diamond described as a 'cascade of coloured
diamonds.' Sadly, the necklace as Real and Rare as it is no longer exists in its original form.
It was dismantled and its diamonds used to create other pieces, making it a beautiful story indeed. It’s no wonder that the necklace was chosen to be the centre of the 'Ocean’s 8' plot.
Full of lustrous diamonds and high fashion, this is a movie the audience definitely wouldn’t want to miss.
