Centre extends date for clearance of old packaged stocks

New Delhi, June 14 (UNI) The Centre on Thursday extended till July 31, the relaxation given to manufactures, packers and importers of packaged commodities for clearance of old stocks in the post-GST period.
This is the fourth extension given to them for selling old stocks after putting stickers, tags and online printing.
A notification issued by the Department of Consumer Affairs under the legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment Rules said that the date for making mandatory declarations has been extended till July 31.
On representations from the industry, the government said that there should be no prosecution for any offenses under the Rules and the ``initial enforcement steps may only be in the nature of investigational surveys’’.

New Delhi, June 19 (UNI) The Ministry of Culture has said that Adopt a Heritage’ Scheme of the Government is making good progress with three MoUs having already been signed and six at an advanced stage
In response to certain reports appearing recently in the media regarding ‘Adopt a Heritage’ Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) pertaining to Red Fort being ‘put on hold’, the Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Raghvendra Singh said under ‘Adopt a Heritage’ Scheme, three MoUs have already been signed and six are at an advanced stage and 31 more Adarsh Monuments are enlisted for coverage under the scheme.
