Centre extends ceasefire with NSCN-NK & NSCN-R till 2019

New Delhi,Apr20 (UNI) The Government on Thursday extended till 2019 ceasefire in operation with two Naga rebel groups of National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Nekpao(NSCN/NK) and National Socialist Council of Nagaland- Reformation(NSCN/R) .
'A ceasefire is under operation between the Government of India and the two factions of Naga armed groups. It was decided to extend the suspension of operation with NSCN-NK and NSCN- R for further one year with effect from April 28, 2018,' a Home Ministry statement said.
The agreement was signed on April 19, 2018 by Home Ministry Joint Secretary Satendra Jain, on behalf of the Government of India and NSCN-NK representative Jack Jimomi and Mr Viniho Kiho Swu, Co-Supervisor and member Toshi Longkumar of NSCN-R.
