Wayanad, Oct 20 (UNI) Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has alleged that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government was misusing the National Investigating Agencies to pressurise politicians who oppose the government.
Addressing the media after a COVID-19 review meeting at the Collectorate here on Tuesday, the Congress leader said the recent raids at the residence of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah in Srinagar was part of this objective.
It is nothing but a tragedy that these agencies which are supposed to justice to the people are being maneuvered for political gains.
On the newly introduced farm laws, Mr Gandhi said these laws would break the back of farmers in the country.
'Farmers are the backbone of the economy. The new laws were enacted for the benefit of a few key players', he said.
The plight of the farmers was tragic and the impact is double for the fact that the laws are in place at the time of Coronavirus pandemic, the Congress leader said.
