Central assistance to Kerala is insufficient : AP CM

Amaravati Aug 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister found fault with the Central government for its Rs 600 crore meager financial assistance to the floods ravaged Kerala state and appealed to the Centre to declare it as "National Calamity".
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he said that the Centre announced Rs 600 crore financial assistance to the flood devastated Kerala state which is inadequate. He reminded that when cyclone devastated Visakhapatnam city in AP the Centre announced Rs.1000 crore assistance but in fact extended only Rs 650 crore.
He said that AP is sending 2000 Metric Tonnes of rice to Kerala. He said that IAS, IPS, MPs, MLAs officers, NGO, Pensioners and other organisations have come forward extending financial help to Kerala and he thanked them. The Chief Minister said that the nation should extend help in united if any state faces such catastrophe.
