CEC to visit Lucknow to review poll preparedness for UP assy polls

Lucknow, Sep 23 (UNI) Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Nasim Zaidi who will lead the full Election Commission of India (ECI), would be visiting Lucknow for three days from September 25, to review the poll preparedness for the coming assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh early next year.
The two election commissioners A K Joti and Om Prakash Rawat are also slated to accompany Mr Zaidi to Lucknow to get the first hand information about the poll preparedness. This would be the first visit of the CEC to review the poll preparation.
Official sources here today said the ECI team led by Mr Zaidi would reach Lucknow at around 1500 hours on September 25 and immediately they will hold a meeting with the representatives of the state and national political parties from 1600 to 1800 hours at Yojgna Bhawan and thereafter they will hold a meeting with the officials of the state police department.
