CEC stresses inclusive electoral rolls during Dharamshala visit

Dharamshala, June 6 (UNI) Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, who is on a four-day visit to Kangra and Chamba districts from June 5 to 8, reviewed election-related activities and interacted with election officials, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), BLO Observers and other personnel in Dharamshala.
Addressing a meeting at a hotel in Dharamkot, the CEC described BLOs and BLO Observers as the backbone of the electoral system and underscored their crucial role in maintaining accurate, reliable and inclusive electoral rolls.
Emphasising the importance of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Kumar directed officials to ensure that every eligible citizen is reached during the campaign and that special efforts are made to identify and enrol those whose names have not yet been included in the voters’ list.
