CCTV cameras to at public places to check offences against women in Bihar

Patna, Dec 11 (UNI) Bihar government has approved a proposal to install CCTV cameras
at public places in the state to check incidents of eve teasing and other sexual offences
against women.
Principal Secretary of state cabinet coordination department Brajesh Mehrotra told media
persons here that a decision to this effect was taken in cabinet meeting chaired by Chief
Minister Nitish Kumar this evening.
In first, CCTV cameras would be installed at Patna Railway Station and other public places
in Patna district, he said adding that Rs 110. 67 crores would be spent for the purpose.
The plan would be gradually implemented in other parts of the state, he further added.
Mr Mehrotra said in another important decision, the cabinet had approved a proposal to
increase diesel subsidy to Rs 35 per litre from Rs 30 for 10 litres of diesel for irrigation in
one acre of arable land.
It would be implemented in current financial year itself which was an increase of about
16.67 percent, he stated.
Principal Secretary said the state cabinet also approved a proposal to set up nine more
traffic police stations in the state and creation of a total of 1485 posts under various categories
for the purpose.
New traffic police stations would be opened in Muzaffarpur, Biharsharif, Purnea, Darbhanga,
Ara, Chhapra, Munger, Katihar and Begusarai, he informed.

Pune, April 25 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal(5.1°C or more) at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and Assam and Meghalaya; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Jharkhand; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana. These were below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over Vidarbha and east Madhya Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 43.7°C was reported at Anantapur
(Rayalaseema) over the country.
