CCSHAU, Hisar establish NABARD to provide guidance, technology to youth

Chandigarh, Dec 14 (UNI) Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar will establish NABARD Agri Business Incubation Centre (NABIC) to provide guidance, technology and infrastructure to youth/ entrepreneurs for Start ups in different areas of agriculture like crop production, crop protection, bio fertilizers production as well as processing and value addition of farm produce with the emphasis on quality assurance and safety parameters, certification, branding and marketing of different products.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof K P Singh, it is realized that employment generation in rural areas is a major challenge because of lack of relevant skill in value addition in agriculture for those who are willing to shift to off-farm sector. Many of them aspire to acquire new skill sets and gain hands on experience on use of technology. These youth need hand holding and support to emerge as confident and skilled entrepreneurs in agriculture and allied sectors.
The CCSHAU has submitted a project proposal for establishment of Agri. Business Incubation Centre with focus on innovations, skill building and entrepreneurs development in agriculture and allied sectors to NABARD which has approved and sanctioned grant assistance of Rs. 11.75 crore for setting up NABARD Agri. Business Incubation Centre (NABIC) at CCSHAU, Hisar.
