CCI Procurement Centre saves Uklana farmers from going far to sell cotton crop

Chandigarh, Oct 20 (UNI) A procurement centre set up by the Cotton Corporation of India at Uklana has saved farmers from Uklana and nearby areas of Hisar district from going as far as either Barwala or Bhuna to sell their cotton crop at the government rate of Rs 5725 per quintal.
Farmers and traders of the district expressed their gratitude on approval of this procurement centre with the efforts of Haryana Minister of State, Archaeology & Museums and Labour & Employment, Anoop Dhanak.
A farmers' delegation, along with the Cotton Mill Association and the Kachha Arthiya Association had demanded construction of a procurement centre, so that the farmers can get full price for their crop.
