CBI team arrived Tripura for further investigation of Rose Valley scam

Agartala, Jan 11 (UNI) A 14 –member team of Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headed by inspector Brotin Ghoshal has arrived here yesterday to investigate the case related to Rose Valley Hotel and Entertainment Limited, which has looted more than Rs 5000 Cr from the state.

According to report, the team launched investigation against Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar for his alleged involvement in the promotion of Rose Valley in the state and extends administrative support to help their business in the state.

They have already collected material proofs including the video tape of Chief Minister’s speech promoting Rose Valley. The had earlier made several visits in the state and interacted with many people including some officers, media persons and also interrogated Social Welfare and Environment Minister Bijita Nath and CPI-M central committee member Goutam Das.

The CBI team divided into several groups and met with some people, who are well aware about the activities of Rose Valley in Tripura. The team also visited the residence of a leader of opposition party and discussed Rose Valley issue and he also provided many documents to the CBI team.

Police sources said that three cases were filed in the West Agartala police station and one case involved lowest amount was referred to CBI by the state government for investigation. But two other cases those involved larger amount was not sent to CBI that was also came under the suspicion of the investigation.

Moreover, several evidences of minister Nath with her involvement with Rose Valley scam have already been verified by CBI. They also got access to a letter had written by one leader of ruling CPI(M) to the state government to help the Rose Valley Hotel & Entertainment Limited. The state government had allowed Rose Valley Park to do business without paying any taxes to the state exchequer for one an half year.
