Kolkata, Sep 21 (UNI) In search of illusive cop, the CBI has summoned his private secretary Shuvam Banerjee, his two personal security guards and a private travel agent, even as an anticipatory bail prayer on behalf of fugitive is expected to be heard at Alipur court today.
The CBI even reached to ADG CID's ancestral home in UP for his search as the former Kolkata Police Commissioner has been incommunicado since Friday following his 17 days leave from
September 9.
The CBI called Shuvam Banerjee, who is also a CID official, and two personal security guards of the ADG CID, who has been not traced since Friday after Calcutta High Court vacated its earlier order not to arrest the cop.
The CBI also raided the ancestral house of the cop in UP where his mother stays.
The central investigating agency on Friday raided six areas in the city, and south and north 24 Parganas in search of the additional director general (CID) Rajeev Kumar, who is averting possible arrest in Saradha chit fund case for alleged non-cooperation in the investigation.
The CBI officials, including a woman in the rank of DSP on Friday questioned Rajeev Kumar's wife Sancheeta Kumar at her Park Street residence to find out if she knew where is her husband and if she was on contact with him or when she last met him. The CBI stayed nearly 40 minutes during questioning. Sancheeta Kumar is also a central government officer with Indian Revenue Services.
Sources said the hiding police officials using a series of cell phones to hoodwink his trackers.
The CBI also sought phone number from the police chief, which yet to be made.
The CBI made futile raids to some places at Lake Town in North 24 Parganas and Bishnupur in South 24 Parganas for tracing the 1989 IPS officer, who had headedd the SIT during arrest of Saradha chief Sudipto Sen and his assistant Debjanhi Mukherjee. Mukherjee told the CBI that she handed over all
the documents to Rajeev Kumar, who accused of not handing over the said documents to CBI.
