CBI registers PE against two doctors

New Delhi, May 19 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered preliminary enquiry (PE)
against two doctors, who were part of the Rio contingent, sources said today.

They said that the enquiry against Dr RS Negi and Pawandeep Singh was initiated following a complaint that despite having no medical qualification for the treatment of the players, both of them were sent to Brazil with the Indian team in Rio 2016.

Notably, both the doctors were sent by Indian Olympic Association.

Sources said that it was also alleged that some officials favoured them and presently CBI is investigating into the matter.
