CBI held Corporate Affairs Ministry DG for accepting bribe

New Delhi, Jul 16 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation today apprehended a Director General, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, while accepting a bribe of Rs nine lakh in lieu of doling out favours to a firm which had been indulging in violations, sources in the agency said.
It is alleged that B K Bansal, Director General of Corporate Affairs, had been dealing with matters related to certain violations committed by Elder Pharmaceutical, a Mumbai based company.
The violations were detected during inspections conducted by the Regional Director, Western Region, Mumbai (Ministry of Corporate Affairs).
