CBI court sentences ex-Delhi Police SI in bribery case

New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) A special CBI court here has sentenced a former Delhi Police Sub Inspector (SI) to three years imprisonment in a bribery case.
The probe agency said it laid a trap and caught the accused red handed on July 20, 2016 while accepting a bribe of Rs 70,000. After investigation, a chagesheet was filed on September 6, 2016 against accused under section 7 r/w 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act 1988.
"The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi sentenced Tilak Singh Pal, the then Sub-Inspector, Police Station Nihal Vihar to undergo three years simple Imprisonment with fine of Rs 50,000" the probe agency said in a statement on Friday.
