New Delhi, Aug 18 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday carried out searches at 25 locations in Delhi, Jaipur, Dausa, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Alwar, Udaipur and Bhilwara at the premises of ex-bank officials in its investigation of a case related to alleged coins fraud case worth Rs 11 crore.
The raids were carried out at the premises of around 15 former bank officials and others, including ex-Branch Manager/Joint Custodian and Cash Officers in an on-going investigation of a case related to alleged frauds in coins, CBI statement stated.
CBI had registered a case on April 13, 2022, in compliance of orders of Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur and took over the investigation of a case earlier registered at Police Station Todabhim, Karauli (Rajasthan) on the allegations of fraud in coins of Rs 11 crore detected while counting of coins at State Bank of India, Mehandipur Balaji Branch, District Karauli during August 2021, it stated.
Incriminating documents recovered during searches were being scrutinized. Investigation is underway, it added.
