Cash-for-ticket scandal: Haryana Congress ousts leader after Rs 7 crore extortion claims

Chandigarh, March 12 (UNI) The Haryana unit of the Indian National Congress has expelled woman leader Suchitra Devi on grounds of indiscipline and levelling "false allegations" against the party’s senior leadership. The expulsion order was issued by the Haryana Mahila Congress State President Pearl Chaudhary.
The move comes in response to serious accusations made by Suchitra Devi and her husband, Gaurav Kumar, who alleged that top Congress leaders extorted approximately Rs 7 crore from them with the promise of a ticket for the Bawal assembly constituency in Rewari district.
According to the allegations circulated via social media, Suchitra Devi claimed that despite paying a substantial amount to high-ranking officials and their personal secretaries, she was denied the party nomination. Her husband, Gaurav Kumar, has reportedly submitted a three-page complaint to the Delhi Police Commissioner seeking the registration of an FIR. The complaint reportedly includes WhatsApp chat transcripts and other documents detailing the financial transactions.
