New Delhi, Apr 11 (UNI) Car sales within the domestic market rose by 8 point 17 percent to 1,90,065 units in March, 2017 as compared to 1,75,709 units in the same month last year. However, the motorcycle sales dipped 3.33 per cent at 9,15,199 units in the month under review from 9,46,754 units in the comparable month of the previous fiscal, as per the data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). Aggregate two-wheeler sales rose by 0.26 per cent to 14,71,576 units sales of commercial vehicles went up by 9.26 per cent to 87,257 units in March this year. Last year in the same month, the car makers had sold 79,865 units. Vehicle sales across the categories increased by 1.33 per cent at 18,80,352 units in March against 18,55,623 units in the same month last year. Export of vehicles across all categories saw a huge jump of 13.59 per cent to 3,04,704 units against 2,68,246 units.
