Car reduced to ashes in fire at Lodhi road

New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) A car was reduced to ashes within no time at Jawaharlal Nehru Marg on Lodhi Road in the national capital, on Tuesday, leading to a huge traffic jam in the area.
According to Charanjeet Singh, owner of the vehicle, he was going towards Janpath to refill CNG at around 1200 hrs, when suddenly smoke bellowed out of the car.
The East of Kailash resident stopped the car and came out of it. As soon as he alighted from the vehicle, it caught fire and was reduced to ashes soon.
Mr Singh said he informed the Fire Brigade, but till it arrived, nothing was left of the car.
The reason behind the incident was yet to be ascertained, he added.
