Campaign for Sinlung Hills Council polls concludes

Aizawl, Nov 3(UNI) The election campaign for the 12-member Sinlung Hills Council (SHC) came to an official close at 4 PM on Sunday, as announced by Mizoram State Election Commissioner H. Lalthlangliana.
With Sunday observed as a day of worship, most political parties and candidates ended their campaigns by Saturday afternoon. However, door-to-door canvassing continued into Saturday night, along with local meetings in some villages.
Lalthlangliana stated that the silence period is now in effect, prohibiting all forms of campaigning until polling concludes on November 5 evening. He directed political leaders and campaigners to leave SHC constituencies where they are not registered voters, reiterating that canvassing is now strictly forbidden.
