Calcutta Hard Court Tennis Championship 2019: Underdog Borthakur beats 3rd seeded Kedia

Kolkata, Sep 18 (UNI) Unseeded Abhinansu Borthakur whitewashes 3rd seeded Anurag Kedia to enter the semi finals of the Men's Open Singles at the ongoing Calcutta Hard Court Tennis Championship 2019, at both the red clay and synthetic courts of the Calcutta South Club Ltd.
Borthakur, trying to make a come back to the professional circuit after a gap of 15 long months took less than an hour to thrash young Kedia by a humiliating 6-0,6-0.
Top seeded Rohit Rampuria also made an easy entry to the semi finals by defeating Sahil Amin with a straight 6-2,6-2 win.
Aditya Vardhan Roy Chowdhury, seeded 2 in the draw got the better of wild card entrant Farid Alam by a comfortable 6-3,6-2 to enter into the semi finals.
Unseeded in Ladies Open Singles, Shireen Ahamed also made a major upset in the quarter finals today, as she surpassed 2nd seeded Mahima Kumar by an easy 6-2,6-2 to enter the semi finals.
