Cabinet okays transfer of 58.81 acres Farakka Barrage land to BSF

New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for transfer of 58.81 acres of surplus land of Farakka Barrage Project (FBP) to the Border Security Force (BSF) for establishment of 04-BattaIion headquarters.
The FBP is under the Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.
Addressing mediapersons here, Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said the transfer of surplus land of FBP to BSF would be used for establishment of 04-Battalion headquarters at Khejuriaghat in Mouza Jagannathpur, J L No 35 P S Kaliachak, District, Malda of West Bengal.
