Cabinet nod to 78-day bonus for Railway employees

New Delhi, Sep 18(UNI) For the sixth consecutive years, the Modi government on Wednesday announced 78-day bonus for 11,52,000 Railway employees.

The decision to this effect was taken at a Cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the move will result in expenditure of Rs 2,024 crore.

Briefing reporters here, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said the decision is to reward the workers for giving the Railways the productivity.

He said the government has consistently for last six years given bonus to the Railway employees for their contribution in running the organisation which is the 'lifeline of the country'.
