BYJU become first billion dollar start-up founded by Keralite

Kochi, Mar 21(UNI) BYJU’s, India’s largest ed-tech company and creator of the largest K-12 app became the first billion dollar start-up, founded by a Keralite, a top official informed..
Informing this at a press meet here on Wednesday, BYJU’s, the learning App founder and CEO Byju Racveendran said that it was revolutionizing learning for school students by enabling them to become self-paced learners through its learning app.
‘’With over 1.5 crore registered users, it has become the most loved and preferred education app for students across age groups,’’ he said and claimed that ‘’the app has proved to be highly engaging as well as effective. Students are spending an average of 53 minutes on the app daily, the 93 per cent parents have reported an overall improvement in their children’s grades.
‘’We are happy to see so many students learning on their own from the app. The app offers personalised feedback based on every student’s capability and level of understanding. The BYJU’s learning programmes are trailor-made to every student’s individual requirements to ensure a seamless learning experience. It is very satisfying to see that students even in remote locations can have access to the best learning methods through the app,’’ he further said.
Stating that with wide response from the students in Kerala, the company had launched Kerala State Board syllabus on their K-12 learning app, he said adding that ‘’we are working on crating learning programmes in Malayalam and the Malayalam version of the one would be launched in eight months.’’
Once the Malayalam was version launched, the company was planning to provide app to government schools at free of coast, with the support of NGOs, he said, adding that it would help to those students who were not possible to buy the app and could be used from their school library.
