Guangzhou, Dec 15 (UNI) PV Sindhu entered final as she defeated Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand 21-16, 25-23 in the semifinals on Saturday of the BWF World Tour Finals in Guangzhou, China.
The Olympic silver medallist took 54 minutes to finish the game with a win to reach the final. Sindhu, who has been unbeaten in the tournament so far, will now face Nozomi Okuhara of Japan on Sunday in the final in a repeat of last year’s BWF World Championships final.
Both the shuttlers started well, but soon World No 6 Sindhu went into the break with a two-point lead. Intanon came back to give a tough fight, committed errors which helped Sindhu to stay ahead in the match.
