Businessman shot dead by two motorbike borne criminals in broad day light

Kendrapara, Sep 18 (UNI) A 28-year old businessman was shot dead on Hajari-Hatia road under Marshaghai police station by two motorcycle borne criminals in broad daylight this morning.
Kendrapara District Superintendent of Police Niti Sekhar said though the reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained but the businessman might be shot dead due to either past enmity or,business rivalry or possible gang war.
The SP said the criminals fired five rounds of bullets at Gagan Behari Sahu, , who was running a medicine store at Manikunda chowk, while he was on his way to Kendrapara on his bike to bring medicine for his medicine store.
The criminals fired after a scuffle with Sahu.
Farmers who were working in the nearby field rushed him to District Head Quarter hospital, but the doctor declared him received dead.
Acting on the information, the SP along with other police offiers rushed to the spot. Police seized a misfired bullet, a bike and six shirt buttons from the spot.
A scientific team rushed to the spot to help the Marshaghai police in their investigation.
Marshaghai Police registered a case under Section 302 of IPC; Section 25 and 27 Arms Act after Manoj Sahu, the younger brother of the deceased lodged an FIR.
No arrest has been made so far, the SP said.
