The sectoral indices led by Capital Goods, Utilities, FMCG and
Industrials edged lower by up to 1.62 per cent.
Whereas, Bankex, Finance and Consumer Durables increased by up to
0.43 pc.
Major losers on Sensex were Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Bajaj
Finance, Power Grid Corporation, IndusInd Bank and Asian Paints,
falling by up to 1.24 pc.
Top gainers were Tata Motors, Yes Bank, Vedanta, NTPC and Mahindra &
Mahindra by up to 3.01 pc.
Private lender Kotak Mahindra Bank shed 3.79 pc to Rs 1,240.05,
following a series of bulk deals on the stock exchanges.
Dr Reddy's Laboratories rose 1.36 pc after the drug maker announced
today that the Food and Drug Administration of the United States
(USFDA) has completed audit of its formulations Shrevepmi plant,
Louisiana, USA with zero observations.
Tata Steel rose 1.01 pc after the steel maker announced on Thursday
that its board of directors will meet on February 26 to consider and
approve the issuance of unsecured Non-Convertible Debentures on
private placement basis.
