Major gainers on Sensex were Reliance Industries, TCS, Infosys, SBI
and HCL Technologies, rising by up to 1.64 per cent.
Top laggards were Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, Kotak
Mahindra Bank and Coal India, dropping by up to 2.52 pc.
Private lender Yes Bank surged 8.39 pc even as its net profit fell
6.96 pc to Rs 1,001.85 crore despite 36.3 pc rise in total income to
Rs 8,849.81 crore in Q3 December 2018 over Q3 December 2017.
The bank has received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
for its new managing director and chief executive Ravneet Singh Gill
to join on or before March 1.
Auto major Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) rose 0.11 pc after the company
said today that it has signed an agreement with Government of
Haryana to set up Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM), a
model ITI, at Uncha Majra village in Gurugram district.
The Institute will be equipped with modern classrooms and latest
training tools and equipment, including mini vehicle assembly line.
