The sectoral indices led by Realty, Auto, Technology, Industrials,
Capital Goods and FMCG rose by up to 4.07 per cent.

Major gainers on Sensex were Hero MotoCorp, Yes Bank, Bharti Airtel,
Adani Ports, Bajaj Auto and Tata Motors, surging by up to 7.01 pc.
Index heavyweight Reliance Industries rose 1.43 pc.
Cement major ACC climbed 3.51 pc on today's announcement that its
board has approved setting up of a greenfield integrated cement
plant at Ametha, Madhya Pradesh (clunker capacity of 3 MTPA and
cement capacity of 1 MTPA), along with expansion of existing
grinding unit in Tikaria, Uttar Pradesh (cement capacity of 1.6
MTPA) and a third grinding unit also in Uttar Pradesh (cement
capacity 2.2 MTPA).
Meanwhile, the government on Tuesday appointed Shaktikanta Das, a
member of the 15th finance commission, as the Governor of the
Reserve Bank of India (RBI), a day after Urjit Patel resigned. Mr
Das has been appointed for a term of three years.
