The sectoral indices led by Telecom, Energy, Technology, FMCG and
Finance were gainers, rising by up to 6.27 per cent.

While, Metal, Oil & Gas and Utilities shed by up to 1.59 pc.
Index heavyweight Reliance Industries rose 2.79 pc to Rs 1,127.45,
after the company said its market capitalisation rose to Rs 7.12
lakh crore, overtaking TCS' market cap of Rs 7.05 lakh crore, to
become India's most valuable company.
HDFC rose 2.14 pc to Rs 1,891.75. HDFC Bank rose 1.26 pc to Rs
1998.95.
Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) rose 0.16 pc after the company
today announced that it will increase the price of the Marazzo by Rs
30,000 to Rs 40,000 effective from January 1, 2019.
IT major Infosys fell 0.97 pc after the company announced that the
board of directors at its meeting on Thursday appointed Jayesh
Sanghrajka as the interim chief financial officer (CFO) and key
managerial personnel of the company with effect from November 17.
Private lender Yes Bank fell 6.84 pc on Thursday's announcement that
Mr O P Bhatt has tendered resignation from his duties as an external
expert of the 'Search & Selection Committee' (S&SC) with immediate
effect citing that there may be a potential conflict of interest.
The Nomination & Remuneration Committee (NRC) of the Bank while
accepting Mr Bhatt's resignation has recognised his guidance and
inputs during his association with the S&SC as an external expert.
In the foreign exchange market, the rupee edged higher against the
dollar. The partially-convertible rupee was hovering at 71.80,
compared with its close of 71.975 during the previous trading
session.
